It has taken me a while to seek out a community on the net. I've been disagnosed with AS for about two years now. When i found out i stopped feeling like an outsider, but more like a spy. It made sense of my life back in primary school, and half way through secondary school. I remember an assembly with a guest speaker, talking about autism and AS. it sounded very much like me and even my peers thought so. Now i am 16 years old half way through my first year at college, but with all these new people i have become some what of a spy again. Trying to hide who i am. But it is not like it works, it is impossible. I made a huge mistake by keeping myself restrained in a group of people i've already known for a while and didn't branch out straight away like i should have. It is weird though, some people see me as a freak, i can tell by the way they look. Others just see me as a loner, and are friendly to me. I have made a good few friends, not big friends, but people i can talk to and such. Hopefully i will be able to spread my wings a little more in the future. But until then, i found this little place and have joined so i can get somethings off my chest that more people will understand (my best friend has an aspie brother, so he understands). Happy to be aboard.
