Hi, everyone. I posted my introduction a few days ago, but became very anxious over it when no one responded (it'd only been up for less than an hour -- my problem, not yours). I felt like I might've written something stupid or overstepped my bounds... Anyway, I'm obviously new to this place, but have lurked for quite some time. I like the people here and feel that I would get along with most of you.

I won't go into detail about why I'm here and all that, since I tend to go on and on about myself, and I'd hate for your eyeballs to fall out of your head due to boredom, but if you're interested, I posted on my
blog late yesterday afternoon about my upcoming appointment with my GP. This post is also the first time I've publicly gone into detail about my daughter, who is Aspie (dx'd two years ago), and is the first time I've addressed my self-diagnosis. Scary but liberating for me, and I think I may have frightened most of my regular readers away...;-)

Hi Hamster & welcome to WP. I'm pretty much a newbie too.

Don't worry about the "false start". Sounds like your feelings were pretty normal for someone with AS - I often think I've said something silly or put people off, even in posts or e-mail. I check and re-check a thousand times before I post anything! And then still worry about it...!

I can go on and on as well, so don't worry, you're not alone

Oh just one word of warning about WP - it's easy to get addicted! I've got about a week's worth of work to catch up with since I found the site!

That post of IrishEyes cracked me up

Once again welcome. :)

Thanks so much for the kind welcomes, everyone!

Ooooh, and a special thanks to IrishEyes for the darling hamster! Annoying as hell to listen to, but darling! ;-)

K_zee, I do love hamsters. Good to meet another hamster lover! If you’re interested in a bit of gooey, maudlin hamster worship, here’s something I wrote a couple of years ago. The hamster I wrote about died recently.

And thank you, Cernunnos, for saying that stuff about how you obsess over your E-mails and posts before publishing them -- I do the same thing. That’s why I could never, ever use IM, because then I wouldn’t have the time to think (fine, OBSESS) over what I’m writing. And live chats? FUGet about it! Last time I tried to do that (it was a chat with some writers and editors for a mag I was published in, and was invited to join), I made such a damn fool of myself, I abruptly left the room, then wrote a nauseating little apology e-mail to one of the editors. I told her I was drunk. Haha! Well, she believed me, thought it was funny, anyway.

Thanks for the good read!! I'm sorry she passed away, though if they surpass 2 years then they've done good as most don't make it to three. :(
