Hi!

I'd like to say I'm a new aspie, but I'm really not ... just newly diagnosed is all. :)

I'm 38 years old. I asked a psychologist I was seeing once whether I might have aspergers and he said no, not a chance. Then I asked another and got the same response. They said I was too "personable", because I've learned to open up in therapy and I can do back and forth conversation. So that threw me off the trail for quite a while. Anyway, I recently decided that I needed to be comprehensively evaluated by a specialist, so I went to one, and after a battery of surveys and interviews she concluded that I was definitely on the spectrum.

That said, I'm not exactly the same as every other aspie. I don't like memorizing and following rules much like aspies are supposed to, in fact rules tend to irritate me and make me want to break them. :)

I'm sure there's a lot more I could say, but I'll just close again with Hi!
