Been lurking/reading for a while, finally registered a few days ago.
I'm an NT married to an as-yet un-diagnosed Aspie, who has been DXd with ADD and GAD. It seems disrespectful to label him as that, as he's so much more than that. But I know the short-hand labels are useful, so I'll roll with it.
We've been married for 5 1/2 years, dated for a year before that. He was taking anti-anxiety meds during the time we were dating and for the first year of marriage. Didn't like the side effects, so stopped taking them. Was then prescribed Adderall, but it killed his appetite (and he's borderline underweight as it is, so that didn't work.) For the past 2 years he's been taking Wellbutrin, but recently stopped that because of the short-term memory loss issues. Without the meds, his anxiety increases. Which, affects our ability to relate to one another.
Lately we've been having problems connecting. Since I've long suspected he's on the spectrum, I started doing some research about marriage and AS. Which is how I landed here. I've learned so much from WP and its members; can't tell you how grateful I am for this site.
