I have returned for the first time in nearly a year.

However, I can't guarantee that this return will be very sustainable this time. (I left because I was called a "bigot").

Here is a synopsis of all that had gone on since my departure:

1. I lost my grandmother in May. She had been sick for a few years prior.

2. I worked briefly as a GIS Tech, but--along with another employee-- was let go after just two weeks (nearly identical to what happened at a similar job two years ago). But I feel that the layoff was as a result of favoritism and cliqueishness on the pert of my coworkers.

3. At the aforementioned job, I met a girl who had the same interests as me. I managed to keep a friendship going for two months after being laid off. It ended yesterday because her boyfriend (who, by the way, is already married to another woman) was uncomfortable with her being friends with me. Yet she put up with his dictating who she can and can't talk to, because he looks like Adam Levine from Maroon 5 (her celebrity crush). Plus I found her attractive, and if it wasn't for the boyfriend, it would have been my first attempt to date someone not on the spectrum in nearly 15 years, as well as the first attempt to date a non-Christian.

#3 upsets me the most

Sorry to hear you have had such losses. I always found romantic problems unbearable.

On a self note, I am glad to see your return to WP.

Thanks, JKT!

But like I said, I don't know how long I will be on here this time. Bigotry is one of the worst things one can be accused of, even worse than child molestation or a violent crime.

As for the girl, the only thing I did wrong was not look like Adam Levine. Very few women have the same interests as me, that's why this is especially upsetting for me.

You did nothing wrong. She was just following orders. It's too bad, though. The result of the boyfriend's insecurity. She is in sad shape being so dependent on a married man.

Agreed. But I am totally defenseless as for trying to salvage even a friendship with her.

She gave the boyfriend all the power. Maybe he will move on. I don't see her coming out of her addiction to him. What was she interested in?

I don't know if I would be considered for a romantic relationship if she were single, because I clearly don't look like Adam Levine. She also accused me of "commenting too much" on FB posts she made, but I haven't commented any more than any of her other friends (and her friends always liked my comments). I've been singled out.

If she has not unfriended you, that's good.

The strange thing is that generally, I tend to avoid chatting with women who are already in relationships, because a jealous SO is sometimes involved.

Yet I am just as blinded by her having the same interests, as she is with him looking like Adam Levine. If the "boyfriend" didn't look like AL, she probably wouldn't have put up with his insecurity like she did.

Other than people like her, Houston is completely devoid of people with the same interests, Especially to conservatives, watching shows like the Simpsons and South Park is almost as bad as watching porn. (I am not liberal by any means, though).

Can you find people that share your interests online? Yeah, I remember your dilemma involving your interests being frowned upon by conservatives. Simpsons and South Park might be fairly popular around universities. They may have a course that would study the impact of animation on society or maybe an art class in drawing cartoons.

Wanting to share your interests is a strong drive in many people. It would be a kind of utopia to know someone with the same interests and intensity of interest.

I think the Adam Levine obsession played into my job loss. The co-worker I was mentoring with turned out to be an abrasive jerk, and likely a bully, and he spent more time shopping on company time than doing any work. The girl I was talking about was treated just as poorly by him. Yet she said nothing about how she or I was treated by him, because she thought he had a "smoking hot bod", and essentially looked the other way. If the co-worker was middle-aged and looked and dressed like a hillbilly, she would have reported him immediately and got him fired.

And she herself spent more time looking at scantily clad pics of Adam Levine than actually working.

I was the only one there acting professionally. Neither of them were let go--this is why I mentioned favoritism and cliquishness.

The friend loss is likely permanent. Any attempt to refriend her would probably be considered stalking.

She sounds more interested in Adam Levine than Simpsons or South Park. It is a wonder she was interested in anything else at all. How unfair you were the one let go. I just don't understand a lot of people.

True, but she does like the Simpsons and South Park. Conservatives often refer to Comedy Central as "the Satan Channel". I have a poor reputation with conservatives, and an even worse one with liberals.

If I tell her that her decision to be with a married man who controls her is idiotic, she will not listen, and will probably put a restraining order on me. She will only listen to people who take her side, pat her on the back and tell her "you go girl". Her decision to unfriend me is irreversible.
