Anybody in the Inland Empire?

What is the Inland Empire like? I have heard so much about that region, but have never been. I work in transportation, and so I am fascinated that most of the container traffic in the U.S. gets distributed in the Inland Empire at some point.

The Inland Empire are cities directly East of Metro Los Angeles by about 65 Miles. They include parts of Riverside and San Bernadino Counties.
