Hi!

My name is Thor, I'm 26 years old, I live in the Trøndelag region of Norway and I got diagnosed with AS about a year and a half ago. I'm not the worst case of AS there is, pretty average i think. Not knowing i had AS has left me and my life pretty messed up, but after finding out about it things are on the right track, albeit very slowly. I'll spare you guys from the long version (... for now.)

My depression is pretty bad lately, but that is what made me google "Asperger jokes", which is how i found this forum. "Always look on the bright side of life"... Aaaaand now i have to listen to that song...

I'm half Norwegian, half Swiss, but having grown up in Norway with most of my family in Switzerland and France English is just my third spoken language and second written so give me a (very obvious :P ) hint if i sometimes explain things badly or just don't make sense.

Anyways, hello folks :)

the OP, IMHO, is VERY smart to be trilingual with so little apparent effort. I am [nicely] envious of his brainpower. :)

Cool, actually my grandfather's brother (is there an English word for that?) emigrated to america back before WWII... No idea were he ended up or if he ever had kid's tho.

EDIT: Thanks auntblabby! Trick is to grow up with a father that hates to speak french and a mother that don't speak Norwegian, then get forced to learn English in school :P

In Norwegian "uncle" is my father's brother, and we have a word that translates roughly to "great uncle" but with a different word for "great" than in "great grandfather". If you call both of them the same, how do you know which is you uncle and which is your father's uncle?

I have a Swedish last name, but I'm not actually related to the family I got it from... Greetings from Oregon! Welcome to the site.
