I found this site through wikipedia and thought I could relate to people here although I haven't been diagnosed with Asperger's. I'm pretty antisocial (understatement), but I'm trying new things to try to meet people. My name comes from an alias I used in gaming tourneys. I currently go to college and play ElderScrollsOnline and Hearthstone.

Nice to meet you all.

Hi there.

I'm new too. Though I've never played ElderScrollsOnline, I used to play The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind all the time as Merari, a Bosmer.

Nice to meet you!

Hi Barton, I hope you will find the contents of this site interesting. Sometimes a formal diagnosis is not particularly useful because there is not much that can be done to change the way you are, or to alleviate the symptoms.

I have recently started to be upfront about my issues, and although it does nothing to change peoples' opinion of me (a bit of an oddball), it has sometimes allowed a bit of discussion and/or understanding to take place.

Be careful not to let your self-assessment of being antisocial become a permanently self-fulfilling prophesy - it will always be difficult, but that is not a good reason to give up trying - a lifetime is a long time to spend alone.

I've heard that a lot of people don't like it for many reasons. One of them being that it doesn't compare to Skyrim. This is true, but I feel it has more customization and heart when compared to the typical MMO. I'm currently a dual-wielding/healing thief type. Any class chosen can do whatever they want (tank, heal, dps in many different ways). Anyone can also become a werewolf or vampire, too. I also like the questing. It's fully voice-acted and very easy to follow. The PVP is awesome. Cyrodiil is full of massive battles and world pvp (you can gank others or get ganked while questing).

The bad things that turn me off from the game are the bugs. Some of these bugs force me to stop playing like getting stuck in a location and not being able to fix it without a GM. Quests are also commonly bugged, so you can't complete them. These bugs happen a bit too frequently.

I can't say if you'd like it or not. I've been an elderscrolls fan since Morrowind, and I like it. But there are many elderscrolls fans that don't like it. I'd recommend watching a couple reviews before deciding on a purchase. The angryjoeshow review on youtube has a lot of truth in it and is very critical, I'd start with that.

The whole antisocial thing got out of control when I isolated my self in my room for 5 years. It's gotten a little easier to talk though since I'm in college now, but not much better.

Thanks for the welcome, guys.

Nice! I played a lot of characters in Morrowind, but the first one I stuck with was a Bosmer. I played that game for thousands of hours, so fun!
