My name is Caleb Ray, and I am an Aspie. I received my diagnoses of AS just after my 14th birthday. I am now 18. I am very fortunate with how light my AS actually is; most people who meet me have no idea I have it until I tell them. This wasn't always the case, and it is actually a recent development in who I am. It was a HUGE fight to get to where I am today. There are five people who share the responsibility for helping me define the man I am today. In order of influence: Myself(given), My Mother(Without her, I would not have gotten my IEP in High school), My Father(who basically shouted at the district when they drug their feet), My Counselor Ruth Culbertson(On of the greatest women I have ever met), and the school social worker, Ralph Mitchner. I still have many struggles with executive order and stuff like that. I am going to college at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. Again, I am very fortunate in the fact that I am a social butterfly. So that's my basic info. I'm glad I found this site!

Blues, you sound just like me! Only my councilor isn't exactly official, more like a good friend and part pyromaniac by the name of Jeremy! I haven't had too much trouble, but as I'm 16, I'll have to wait and see!

Here's how that works: I worked my ass off to get to where I am now. It does help that I'm at the higher-functioning end of AS, though.

I just found this site by coincidence while looking for something completely different.

Last week, AOL, Medical conditions that give superhuman powers, I looked, and I was a winner!

If there was a Wiki support group, I should have joined, spend a lot of time there.

I have been called geek, nurd, bookish, nuts, demon posessed, know it all, heartless, alien, withdrawn, cold blooded, and my self Dx was Scorpio Biker Syndrom, it fit some of what the world called me, but then to my great relief I discovered AS and WP, and it set me free, it is all true!

36% White nurd, but forgot my Homer and Bart action figures.

That's great you have all that support. Both my parents have helped me too, which is really great. I'm glad to here that others have very supportive partents too. Also, I'm like you in that most people have no clue that i have AS so I know how that is too.
