Hi, all.
I've been on the forum for a couple of days now. So far, you've all been lovely and welcoming.
A bit about me;
I'm not diagnosed but I have a hunch that I may be AS or Autistic and if so, probably high-mid functioning.
Just turned 28, though I feel 10 years younger which I have learnt to embrace.
I enjoy the arts, making music and illustrating. Some of my specific fascinations are with very vibrant colors (I love flowers and nature for this!), tea and discovering new places.
I'm here to meet new people and also share experiences and thoughts. Though I've always been up and down in my thoughts about whether I am AS or not, I do get along very closely with Aspie's and Autistics and my best friends are AS as well as my ex-partner. I'm not sure what commonalities there are, but I do enjoy being on Autism forums, so I hope that you all do not mind
This year has probably been the most markedly positive year; I've started a degree course, I'm living in a lovely place and learning the art of balancing during stress which happens to be one of the most difficult obstacles and this happens daily. So, each and every tool I use helps, especially things like deep breathing.
I have transient intense interests and these transitions happens in very short, sporadic phases (usually lasting up to a few days), so I'm learning to stretch those out with connecting to how I feel in my body rather than in my mind.
I live in London, UK. Luckily not in the center; more on the periphery which gains a nice balance between the city and the rural.
Learning the art of socializing and enjoying other people's company more. It's been a long time coming and I think I am slowly getting through the social angst.
Looking forward to connecting with everyone here!
