Greetings. My name is Debby aka Moondoggy. I am a 50-something woman with Aspergers and the mother of a child with Asperger's. I am interested in other peoples experiences regarding the syndrome and life in general.

hiya Debby, you have the same name as my sister welcome to the club I didn't learn officially that I had the syndrome until I was in my 40s, but the school shrink back when I was a kid thought I might be autistic, this back in the days when not much was known in America about it.

I was diagnosed almost a year ago at age 44. Hi!

i was diagnosed quite early actually, in 2001 when i was 4 years old.
but there was a lot of conflich regarding whether i was "autistic" or not.
i discovered this site last year, reading through threads and articles relating to coping with rough aspie times, i found i could really relate to what was being said.
i joined in march, and since i feel quite the sense of belonging here.
