I would like to meet face to face people who live in Phoenix\Mesa area who are members of WrongPlanet or are on the autism spectrum. I am struggling with being different and not knowing exactly how I am different and need to talk to some others and I dont know how to find such people.

Little help would be appreciated.

Thanks

bruce

Hi skipperdad98 and welcome. I am not from your area, but I am sure someone around here is. There is a lot of information here, and people are very helpful if you ask specific questions. Have fun discovering.

Hi Syan, nice to hear back. Have you felt that you want to be with people but afraid at the same time? I spent most of my life doing mostly what felt comfortable and then I started meditating and getting out more. Then I found out about the asperbers\autimsm and it explains so much. Other people and counselors etc dont seem to understand so I wanted to connect with other aspies and hear how they experience things.

Yes I have. Mostly I am worried about the toll it is going to take.

I have read this a lot here, it seems professionals with a good understanding of ASD are quite rare. Admittedly it is not easy to understand us Aspies, but still, it is hard to find people who 'get it'.
Have you had a chance to check out a few threads? A member here, Feralucce, has written some excellent articles on various topics - you might want to check out his website:

which I find absolutely brilliant.
