talking to others, they don't respond to you or look at you
-They always find an excuse to leave when you enter the room or be anywhere close to them
-They don't sit with you in the lunch room
-When they see you waiting by the elevator they take different elevator or stairs The person never says hi first but they respond when you say hi. When you ask how are you they just say fine and don't return the question

-When you initiate a conversation ,they give you one word response -they don't look in your direction when you pass each other in the hole ways
-They avoid eye contact when talking to them
-When you join their conversation while
-They don't talk to you unless its absolutely necessary

However they are opposite with other people and they are friendly and chatty with other colleagues .Basically they are more relaxed and have warm vibe with other people

So does this person just doesn't like you as person?

Yes, in the most cliché way.

Who are those people you're on about?

They don't seem to be likeable at all themselves, but who am I to judge.

I agree with the last post. Totally.

And the fact that you're posting on here suggests that you've been worried about this situation for a while. My advice? Don't worry about them. Don't go out of your way to try to befriend them or gain their favor, because the way they're treating you is childishly rude. There's no reason why anyone, Asperger's or not, should have to deal with someone who acts like that. So don't even think about them. Unless, of course, that person is your boss, in which case I'd be scouting for a new job.

Moral of the story: yes, your gut reaction was right. From what you've said, that person's acting like they don't like you. And life is too short to waste time on people who don't like you.

I'm not the best at reading people, but maybe this person is shy, or has a crush, or is just awkward, but it is possible they just don't like you.

Personally, I've done some of those things before (still do) just because I'm shy with new people or people I'm not close to, or in the past when I've had a crush I would pretend they didn't exist so I wouldn't look obvious and end up being weird or getting rejected. That being said, I've also had people do some of those things to me because they didn't like me or want to get to know me.

I feel it could go both ways - they truly could just not like you, and that's how they are handling it (I do this with people I do not like, I have a very difficult time "faking" anything).

But it could also be the opposite - they are cripplingly shy around people they don't know very well. I know I personally am like this as well; whenever I meet someone new, I tend to shut down, avoid eye contact, avoid any potential for "small talk", things like that, and it's not because I don't like you necessarily, it's just because I'm uncomfortable in that situation. And if they are chatty and open with others, it's possible that they are closer to those others and therefore more comfortable.

It could be both; but if they are a normal regular person, it could unfortunately be that they don't like you. However I too am very bad at reading people, and often times I will take these kinds of behaviors as negative, when in fact it's just someone who is uncomfortable around new people. It's rare, but I know it's possible because I do it myself.

Just continue to be kind and polite - that's the best way to handle it I think.
