Hello to everyone!
I am a mom of wonderful 3 yo boy who has yet not been diagnosed, however Im now almost sure he must be somewhere on a spectrum. He started to attend a childminder setting in January and from the beginning I was told he might have some "issues"...Now we are waiting for his childminders to write a report and sent it to his GP and health visitor...When i look back i could always described my son as a very serious and a little bit "detached" ,but i thought it was just his character, his speech was also a little bit delayed , at the age of two he knew around 30 words , but I was told its due to him being bilingual, myself and his dad come frome Poland , and since he was born I talked to him in both languages. When my boy was around two and a half we went to Poland for a week and then suddenly his speech got so much better, he started to join words and reapiting whole sentences. As I mentioned above the trouble has started in January at a childminder setting , and when his childminder pointed the issues I could see its nothing new ,but I always thought there was nothing to worry about. Well in a few words my son struggles to keep eye contact, he would not play with any other children and could be agressive, he can be kind to children ,but then suddenly he can change and hit them ,like for him there was no difference between these behaviors... His speech is also particular, he can built simple sentences on his own but mostly he comunicate using the sentences he heard before, he mastered it to perfection though and use those sentences apropriate to the situation, for example when he wants play with hoover he would say "want to play with hoover? So get a hoover darlinging" and he struggles to simply reply with a "yes" or "no" and repeats most questions he is asked. Speaking of hoover...hoover is my son's grant obsession :-) he can play with hoover for hours, he talks about it all the time , he also loves aiplanes and its becase i told him that airplane's engines are a large hoovers...I can see that he isnt comfortable at all In a new situations and with more people around he seems to shut off , on playgrounds he would stay on the side and play with a gate rather then use any other equipment, there is only one playground he likes and feels comfortable on, even when its packed with children. At the top of everything, sometimes he could not recognise or greet me or his father or other people he knows, ithese situations he behaves like he literally doesnt see that person , even though they are talking to him and trying to say hello and catch his attention. He also would not usually respond to demands, have a lots of tuntrums and meltdowns and likes his routine unchanged , he also have a few sensory issues..

Appart from that he is happy, loving and curious little boy , he constantly makes a progress and can trully amaze me, like when a couple of weeks ago he learned to us a potty within one day. He is very independent and wants to do most of the things on his own.

Sorry for such a long post , I just tried to described my lo the best I could as we still haven't been diagnosed.
I came here for support as Im a single mom and I struggle a lot sometimes ,also I just need to uderstand what is going on with my son to help him as much as I can. At the moment I only know that I wouldnt change a thing about him, hi is perfect to me but i am afraid sometimes of his future and I really want him to be happy.
and sorry for my english but im not a native speaker, i hope i could make myself cleare :-)
