I first heard of AS a couple years ago on an unrelated forum (Days of the New). I googled for it out of curiosity to find out what it was and was dumbfounded by what I found - this led to further researching and I've got pretty strong reason to believe that I may very well be AS. No official diagnosis, but I don't see a reason to bother, I'm not seeking excuses or treatment, just a bit of enlightenment.
Can't say I know anyone with confirmed AS, so I'm curious as to what AS people are like to be around.

First you need to get the lingo going to you sound
Rather than AS people, say Aspies.
Aspies are individuals with different personalities.
Do you have any special interests?

I'm just plain bonkers about model railroading, have been since I was a lil youngin. Presently work in a hobby shop too, so my interests get indulged at work (but I'm not there to stay, it's a temporary job). Also mess with photography & railfanning, computers, electronics, hiking/camping, architecture, cycling, etc etc ad nauseum... I'd guess you know how it goes. Once I get into a hobby, I must know it all, I must get the best stuff!
Through it all though, I've stayed with model railroading the most. It's fun duplicating another place and time in miniature that might have been or might not have been.

Welcome, from another new guy My current hobbies include my 1:10 scale ferrari RC car and my motorcycle, and many other things I could ramble about, but I was in love with model railroads when I was younger, and I'm still pretty into computers, but not as much as I used to be. Actually, I could see myself being absorbed by all of the hobbies you mentioned. I can relate to your "must know it all" syndrome when it comes to hobbies, and I've found that most everybody else on this forum can as well. Enjoy; I know I am!
Just a random question... do you have lousy handwriting? My mom grilled me about my handwriting all through school until I left home, and it still looks like hell at age 22. Just yesterday I found out that it was one of the traits of being an aspie...what a revelation...

According to my parents, I read newspapers at 3 years old. I was writing perfectly form script prior to going to school. When I got there, they made me go back to writing in block capitals. I hated it. My handwriting ever since has been cr*p.
Anyway, sorry to hijack your welcome thread, RidgeRunner, but welcome to Aspie heaven, anyway!

Mine's just a radioshack special, but it's crazy fast and I can't stop driving it. I have some smaller ones but none as cool as the f430. And the whole handwriting thing is wild, I've always wondered why I can write as slow as possible and think I'm writing neatly, but once I read over it it looks like a 3rd grader wrote it. So many answers on this forum!

Such perfectly bad timing...
By cycling, I meant riding bicycles. I have an older road bike fixed up nice with modern components and a couple mountain bikes. Haven't ridden much lately, haven't felt motivated to all winter nor much this spring.
