Time to introduce myself..
Hi. I'm awful at articulating my thoughts and introducing myself so sorry if this is vague.
My name is Alex, I'm 19, male, INTP, a college sophomore studying psychology with a minor in bio. While I've suspected for years that something about me was a tad "off," it took until only early this year to get diagnosed w/ high-functioning autism.
I've always had difficulty understanding the concepts of socializing and my attention span has always been rather nonexistent (diagnosed with ADD), and it's always taken me longer to grasp concepts and apply them compared to my peers. For years my parents and teachers would blame my negligence or inability to understand on "laziness" without knowing what was going on neurologically - to this day I still feel some shame about it.
Only recently have I speculated the possibility of having dyscalculia due to my inability to apply mathematical concepts well. I can understand the logistics of it, to some extent, but I forget concepts quite easily and always calculate and input things incorrectly. I recently submitted a self-dx form to my uni's DSS, hopefully I can get tested for it soon because I'm having much difficulty with college level precalculus which is (fortunately) the last math class required for my degree, but I need more accommodations than others.
So, those are my dilemmas in a nutshell other than some anxiety/depression problems.
Otherwise, I'm really into video games, science, programming and my favorite hobby is fixing/repairing old game systems. I also enjoy reading and acquiring knowledge but I forget concepts quite often unless I use them/talk about them frequently. I don't particularly like myself as a person, but I'm hoping to work on that problem soon.
