Hi. Um, I assume I'm allowed to make an introduction topic because I saw others. So, I'm just gonna fill out this thinger here.

What is your first name? Cory.

Age: 19.

Location: Pennsylvania.

Hobbies and Interests: Video games, music, card games (collectible and non-), hanging out with friends, reading, art, guitar, piano, internet stuff. I dunno what else.

Why are you here? I dunno. I asked my mom if she ever suspected I had Asperger's or anything and she said "No, but why don't you look into it." So I did, and now I'm here.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): N/A

Favorite subjects: Psychology, music, tech classes.

Year/Grade: Between highschool and college. I wanna go to college, but it scares me.

Favorite music: Alternative rock and classic rock mostly. Favorite bands being Queen, Keane, Carpark North, Eiffel 65, and Marcy Playground.

Books: The Fletch series, The Alchemist, Veronika Decides to Die, Rx, lots of others. I love fiction. I also read a lot of manga.

TV shows/Movies: TV: Heroes, The Black Donnellys, Scrubs. Movies: Saw series, The Lake House, Lucky Number Slevin, Million Dollar Baby.

Instrument: A little piano, a little guitar. I play in a garage band called Chasing Davis, named after three of the member's (including myself) favorite teachers. We're not good. XP

Do you like sports? I like to play them sometimes, but the only one I'll watch is boxing.

Family: My mom and my brother live with me.

Clothing: I dunno. I like what's comfortable and what appeals to my taste. I actually get a lot of hand-me-down clothes that I like.

How did you find this website? Wikipedia.

Job: None. That scares me too.

Plans for the future? I'd like to be an adolescent psychologist. I'd also like to get somewhere with my band, but that's a backup plan.

So, um, yeah, I haven't been diagnosed with anything. So I'm here to hang out (I'm a message board fan) and learn I guess.

I don't really know what else to say about myself, but if you have questions I've got answers.

Hey, thanks.

I wanna ask something of you all. I know the vast majority of the members here have difficulty in social situations (myself included), but does anyone else have trouble with virtual social interaction? I mean, for example, I've just been lurking on this site for the past 2 or 3 hours and I think I've posted once, if that. I'm interested in what's going on in some topics and all, but I'm just freaked out about getting in on the conversation for some reason. Anybody have any experience with that sort of thing?

I do, and it's interesting because AS people are supposed to have bad empathy.. I strongly disagree, for at least the self-conscious ones among us; I rather think we have an over-active sense of empathy. I even find it difficult to troll on a message board that I know I may never return to. I tend to write responses over and over again and then finally delete them and not post at all. You're not alone..

Haha. Wow. Thank you for responding. I was, like, freaking out. "Should I bump my post? Should I make a new post about the topic? Will it bother people?" But thank you. XP

I'm so happy to hear from someone who understands. I actually logged onto my GaiaOnline account a week or so ago with the sole intent of putting some of those pseudo-intellectuals into their places, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I just lurk around there now, looking at topics, saying to myself "Oh how I want to reply!" But I can't. It's a little frustrating.

I think I've written and deleted about ten responses to threads on this board in the couple days that I've been here.

Out of curiosity, does your name come from the Greek Spartans or the Halo Spartans? I got interested in the Greek Spartans a couple years ago and was thrilled when 300 was announced.

Anyway, gonna wrap this up. I feel like I'm taking up a lot of board room. ^_^;;

Panzyo,

Just jump right in, perfection is not needed, it is a game of small fast comments. Any reply keeps the thread moving, and does produce something.
