Hello. I haven't posted in well over a year, so I feel I need to introduce myself again.

I'm a 54 year old woman diagnosed with high functioning autism. I've been married for almost 30 years to the same man, only married once. We have 2 sons - ages 21 and 13.

I was born in the time when HFA and Aspergers were unheard of, and very little was known of autism in general, especially in the country in which I was born in South America. Therefore I experienced a great deal of verbal abuse and bullying, as well as physical abuse. Ive spend many years in recovery from all the abuse and in trying to learn to set boundaries. I also come from a narcissistic and/or borderline family, which is a horrible thing for someone with autism. I ended up being scapegoated as a kid, teenager, and young woman.

Fortunately I have a strong faith and spiritual life, which has literally been my saving grace.

I will be 49 in a few days, I am married to a neurotypical wife and have an Aspy daughter 16 (and her Aspy 17 year old boyfriend) and have a 12 year old Aspy son.

I have been trying to post a little more here at WP because so many great people have responded to my posts and helped me.
I have grown to understand myself better thru interacting with the people here. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Hello, thanks guys. I just started a new blog on wordpress. Is there a topic or thread on this board where we can provide links to our blogs? I'm not trying to sell anything or promote myself, just trying to get real and honest about what it's like having ASD. Am I allowed to put the blog link in my signature?

Hello, I am 45, married for 23 years to a man with high function autism, Asperger...it has been hard, and did not discover this until 3 years ago when we started having trouble with my son, and they diagnosed him with the same thing, and I did not know anything about this, it was a relief to know what he had, but sometimes I feel so lonely because he is so different from me, and my son is going through adolecence now and it is being very hard for me. Sometimes I feel like flying away from this, but I know I have to endure,mI have a very spirotual life, God has give. Me strenghth I need, but I am human as well and feel down sometimes...I would lime to have words of motivation to help me with my down moments, thank you
