-well not exactly, I've been prowling around for a while.

yes I drink and smoke, and so not to open up those threads again....

I drink because it helps me sleep, though I can't take spirits; I guess you have to find your poison. I smoke because even though it's terribly nasty, it has the side effect of numbing my sense of taste and smell, although I probably am addicted also.

Nicotine is also better than any drug at relieving anxiety. Also the nicotine is a quick hit ... it gets to the brain within seconds of inhaling.

I work with people with emphysema and part of my job description is assistance with smoking cessation ... no I'm not nagging ... just trying to give you some information.
