I've felt like a 'weirdo' for awhile now. I am 45yo & married. It is nice to find this forum as a place to try and be 'understood'. And, maybe understand myself a little better. :|

I took this Aspie quiz tonight and here are my results:

Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 123 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 93 of 200
You seem to have both neurodiverse and neurotypical traits

Interesting test results, considering you're officially diagnosed.
Welcome Acadiana. :alien:

Hi=). I changed that to 'Not sure if I have it or not', that's what I had clicked originally. Apparently, it defaulted back without me noticing. So, what is your opinion of my quiz results?

Thanks.

I just thought it would be interesting that the quiz wouldn't give evident results for someone who has been diagnosed by a professional.
Though I believe there are some other people on here who have also had a diagnosis with this 50/50 result on the Aspie Quiz.
Since it just put the wrong option, this has become a non-issue anyway.

I just took another Aspie quiz and got a score of 38. Here is the range I was in:

32-50 indicates a strong likelihood of Asperger syndrome or autism.
In fact, scores of 32 or above are one of strong indicators of having as ASD.

So, in the 1st quiz I took, the longer one, I was, I guess somewhere in the middle?
And, this above quiz, it seems in the top of range.

Welcome to Wrong Planet.

Sorry to be nosy, but is your spouse neurotypical? Do you have any children?

I am married and my wife is neurotypical, though I fear for her sanity having to deal with all of us Aspies. Everyone else has Apsergers, my 16 year old daughter, my son 12 years old, and may daughters 17 year old boy friend.

It is interesting that you said you want to be understood and to understand yourself. My prayer for people on this site is that they would understand and be understood.

It seems like our biggest challenges often are:
-understanding ourselves
-understanding others
-being understood by others - NT or Aspie

Good luck and welcome

My hub has never taken a test but I am 100% sure that he is NT! Nobody dislikes him, he talks just enough and says just the right things, to everybody! I am jealuz. I have 3 boys, 23, 11 & 9. I think the 23yo and possibly the 11yo could have some Aspie traits.

P.S. NT (neurotypical) is a synonym for 'normal', right? :nerdy:

yup, autism equals neurodiverse, while neurotypical means "normal."

I totally love the eeyore avitar!! !

It brings back memories
It's not much of a tail, but I'm sort of attached to it.

My wife and I had an inside joke that her Dad was a lot like eeyore. I loved my father in law. He was a great man. Unfortunately he had cancer and died 6 or 7 years ago... I miss him a lot.

I worry a little because one time my wife said she never wanted us to become like her Mom and Dad. They were grumpy with each other and did not communicate very well. She made some poor choices with their money and they emded up poor and in bad health. I think she was mostly talking about the fighting.
But I can see myself in him a little more. He was depressed, I am depressed. He had trouble communicating and was always a little hard on himself. I am too.

I really loved Archie - thanks for recalling those memories

Thanks, I like Eeyore too. Maybe your IL's fought because of $ issues, and her poor choices which led to it? My husband has trouble communicating when things come up on my end that I feel we need to talk about. I believe it's related to his childhood. It's frustrating for me.

Certain people who've passed do take a piece of our hearts with them, don't they? I miss my mom and dad EVERY day.
