Hey all, I'm TheTjalian. I was reading up on Wikipedia about Aspergers Syndrome (I just happened to be on it, I wasn't really doing anything specific) and I came across this site. I figure "Why not? You might as well!".

Incase you can't tell via my profile (I haven't really checked out if there's any additional info on the profiles yet) I am diagnosed aspergers. However... I'm kind of different. Now, not in the usual way that you'd expect, but different to most cases. I've found that quite a symptoms autism brings I've grown out of, really.

Things like the lack of humour or the general social problems are relatively gone. While it's not like 100% gone (after all, does it ever really go?) it's almost gone, which is good, heh. Also other things like the irrationally emotional behaviour stuff has gone too. I get a little angry at times but you wouldn't be calm all the time if you went to the college I did! Lol :P And I most certainly don't have clumsy motor movements, well, not without certain adult beverages anyway!

I've looked at a lot of things on Wikipedia and I've noticed all of the "negatives" which Wikipedia seems to play on can all pretty much be grown out of. Thing is, a lot of things like social interaction, humour, dating, etc etc, they all have rules. Now, Autistic people in general do have a rather logical thinking pattern and all of the above things are just sets of rules and guidelines to follow by. With this in mind, it's not hard to relay all of these rulesets and lifestyle guidelines to someone with aspergers, for them to learn these rules. Most of us are pretty damn smart, it'd be like doing regular schoolwork I suppose.

Of course, I don't have all of the rules for the above things (especially dating *cough*) but nevertheless there are rules to go by. I mean, obviously it's not all rules and logic based so quite clearly it's not straight forward, but a lot of the non-linear stuff is stuff other people have to learn anyway.

Anyway... as for myself, I'm a games guy. It's my Obsessive Compulsive, I guess, heh. I'm also into other tecchy stuff like computers and programming. I'm currently doing a foundation degree in computer software development and I'll be going into Games development next year (BSc Year 2).

I'll probably pop along quite a bit, sounds like a good place. Well if you want to know anything about me, just ask! I won't bite!

Yes, and I tryied to press it, but caught the other once more as you've seen!

Hey guy, I've been thinking about somenthing...
You are a proud social aspie, what is rare here, social people are probably not here, but, as you've probably seen we use to be extremely ... hm... crying here... well, don't know how to say, but many people "suffering" from aspergers. Welll, of course I don't know from which they suffer, but I notice they really do.

Well, the time is over, we must end all this.

We are Titans, and we must show it.
We must change the world and turn it very better than it is, and this seems to be a great place to start!
Let us begin the new age, let us built the aspie era!! !

(but I'm Neuromancer and don't like to read inside bodies)

Hey, me too. Games have been my hobby, my obsession, my connection with friends, etc. And after getting into computer graphics, I've done maps and stuff for games. Wargames ("conflict simulations") in particular have a lot of detail, complexity and connections to history. Right now I'm working on a map for a Chancellorsville game. Also computer games like Civilization 3 and 4, and Grand Theft Auto are favorite things to get immersed in, for days, weeks at a time.

My 2-yr degree is in computers and programming; later added a webmaster course. If I'd thought that game development was a viable career path, I might've gone there.

Oh, and I upgraded my own video card. :)

Welcome to WP. Not that I've been here that long myself, but it seems quite a good place, a lot of friendly accepting people helping each other.
