Hello,


I'm a bit reluctant to post here as I haven't done the web forum thing in years. Anyway...

I'm a 25 y/o male living in Philadelphia. Been diagnosed with autism twice but never specifically Asperger's (though definitely a high-functioning variety).

I have a decent, computer-geek type job in litigation support and am proud of this fact despite dropping out of both high school and college multiple times. I have no social life or friends, live alone, and will likely continue to do so for many years. I'm very lazy when it comes to things I'm not obsessed with (currently, everything but my job).

Oh oh oh! I have a nephew with aspergers in a town about an hour from Philedelphia. I wish you could contact him. My brother and his wife are wonderful people, but they can't believe he has aspergers and they are so often frustrated with Zach. He sorta barely graduated from high school last year despite his high intellegence and he is looking for a college. Um, how can I safely connect you two in case you are some kind of pervert? Sorry, you are likely not, but how can one tell? I only have my brother's email, and he never responds (to anybody, not just me) so I'm not sure how to reach Zach. Let me think about it.

I'm actually new to the Philly area.. grew up and lived in CT (besides a 2 month stint in Ohio for college) until last November. I'm still getting used to it... but so far it's way too crowded for my liking.

There's a very good chance I'll be moving to Houston for my job shortly though. I'm looking forward to that, as Houston is a lot cheaper and although it's a big city like Philly, it's much more sprawled out.

As for the friend situation, I'm not sure I'm ready for "real-life" friends anyway. I've been so withdrawn from society for so long that it's hard for me to even post on the internet anymore.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome.

I'm not sure what the standard protocol is for connecting w/people on the internet such that it assures neither one is a pervert. Of course I'm not, but if I were, I wouldn't say I was either.

I hope things work out for Zach. I had my own problems when I was his age. At least he managed to graduate high school, which is a good sign. I coasted by on my intelligence for quite some time but the environment wore down on me and eventually I couldn't take it anymore. That, and as I mentioned above, I am really lazy at times.
