Hey all!
The first things people notice about me is I am smart and I am loud. My boyfriend is deaf/hard of hearing and funnily enough the level of his hearing loss means that he can not hear below the volume that is my natural voice. I'm not always that loud, but I am when full of emotion(negative or positive.) My hearing isn't the best either and when I lower my voice to a volume that doesn't get me kicked out of the local library, I can't hear myself and the discounted of this causes me to lose focus and forget what I'm trying to say. I think though perhaps my gender(female) gets me in trouble to since my male friends(also aspies) will never get told to be quiet, even though they speak at roughly the same volume as I do. Just as often as I am talkitive, I am also often nonverbal and people are usually shocked to learn what a quiet person I am. When I am trying to be social I talk quite a lot because I'm not getting any input that neurotypicals get when they talk to a person, like tone or body language. So I talk and ask questions and attempt to gather as much information as I can. People view me as a know it all, but I'm really not, I love learning and most of my "obsessions" are academic, and people often mistake knowing a lot as being a know it all. Wow, yeah this has me sounding really annoying lol. jeez. Okay, well, people usually really like me, or really hate me. I like a variety of music, from Goo Goo Dolls to Voltaire to Dawud Warnsby to Ernie Ford to Hank Green(yep, that eclectic lol.) As for movies, my favorite Drama is La vita e Bella and my favorite comedy is 50 First Dates. I recently got rid of cable, but I watch netflix and I am I'm thinking of getting HBO Go so I can watch the 6th season of Game of Thrones. My favorite books are Oliver Twist, The Giver, Brave New World, and I'm currently reading the first book in the Wheel of Time series(my boyfriend's favorite)
