Hello!

I have joined this site because I homeschool and am mother to 3 kids...the eldest, 15, a girl was dx'd with AS at the age of 3. My middlest, a son, 12, is somewhere on some spectrum...he has generalised anxiety disorder, whatever that is, has a tremendous dislike for most foods and smells and is anxious about swallowing, eating inanimate objects, toxic substances...you name it. My third, a girl, 10 was born 3 months early, has mild atypical behaviours but is generally the most "typical" of the lot! I, myself, suffer from extreme social phobia which I was forced to cope with to some extent when my kids came along but I prefer to be alone. The internet allows me to cope to some extent because I can "escape" and it's not face to face!

I have some questions but am not sure where to ask them. Sometimes my choice of words or my questions may be taken as offensive. I don't want to get into arguments or insult anyone, I just really need to understand and get some constructive advice...is there somewhere safe to ask these questions?

Welcome to WrongPlanet.net, whereami!

Generalized Anxiety Disorder is anxiety about anything and everything. Social Anxiety Disorder is, instead, focused on the troubles with socializing. Wow, three children with various spectrum characteristics. You and they are certainly a collection of differences! I hope, despite your descriptions, that your family tends to function well enough to remain happy and productive. :)

Hi, welcome. Usually, people post parent-related stuff in the Parent's Discussion forum, so maybe ask your questions there? I have GAD so I can relate to that.
