My name is Todd. I am 27 years old.

I am diagnosed with autism.

My therapist has been trying to get me to do this for a very long time, but I always tell him no. I've always been too shy to join forums. The only forum I've ever really posted on is a writing forum. I really enjoy writing stories and creating characters.

I may not sound like it, but I have a lot of trouble with speech. I'm more comfortable typing on the computer, but, in day to day life, I have the hardest time expressing myself. I don't know which words to use and I stumble a lot. But when I have a lot of time to think about what I'm going to say, it's much, much easier. Therefore, my social life is limited to the computer.

Well, I suppose that will do for now. I don't know if I'm going to really be posting much or just reading. So hello to everyone and good day.

It took me many, many years to finally start using emoticons. I find that they help me express myself.

Hi, welcome! What kind of stories do you write?

Personally, I like to write about psychology. I'm very interested in how people's minds work.

The writing forum that I belong to is mainly about role-playing, but people also post stories on it sometimes. When I role-play with my friends, we write about all kinds of things. The last topic I was in was about a zombie takeover. We got to over 100 posts.

I'm interested in psychology too, especially learning about people with disabilities.

It might seem strange, but I would like to be a psychological researcher... some day, one day. However, I have a really hard time understanding people. I just don't get other people's emotions. It takes great difficulty for me to even read what other people write. I keep wondering... what does this person really mean? What are they actually trying to say? Very often, I'm horribly wrong. Nuances are not my strong point.
