Hi all. I'm a turtle. Not literally obviously. It's just like my favorite animal and what represents me.

Anytway, I dunno how much of my RL i am gonna share just yet. I am generally as open online as I am in RL. Which is relateively open. Not much to tell really.

Anyways... (oh I don't givem e name and address obviously though LOL).

But yeah... I am getting an assessment for Aspergers soon. Many many people suspect I have it... myself included. Pysch suspects it... teaching assistant for aspergers/autistic childrens do. Family suspected it. neuropsychologist suspected it.

Part of me has been afraid for so long because what does this mean if I don't feel emotions in the way 99% of people do (supposedly aspies are 1% of the population).

But at the end of the day... I'd rather deal with the stigma and harsh reality than live a lie. Of course I have always wanted the truth but my family, friends and society never wanted it. They wanted me to apologize even when I felt was right in an argument. For hurting my feelings.Eve en when they hurt my feelings too.

The part I don't get is.... I would tell them that if I were to apologize it would be a lie because I felt I had done nothing wrong or at least no more wrong than them. So either no one or everyone should apologize. They would tell me to just apologize anyway out of politeness.... and act like I was weird for valuing honesty.

So I changed my definition of "sorry" to mean "I am giving you social politeness now despite not actually feeling like I have done anything wrong" and thereby being able to tell the truth because it didn't mean I was actually sorry anymore because that's what they wanted and the only way I could both cope and be honest. But then they didn't like it when I would apologize just to please them and they told me to stop saying sorry so much. They wanted the perfect balance of sorry, like the normal "common sense" (whatever the f**k THAT is!) amount. Can't f*****g win no pleasing some people.

Lol. Sounds like a lot of anger and hate. This was years ago. I don't hold grudges or feel angry. But I do express and vent in order to cope, explain and make myself feel better about who I am. And to just communicate. I love my family they are wonderful. Anyways hi all! :)

I'm 28 and male.

Welcome! I like your username. Turtles are great, too--we have another member, Skilpadde, here who also loves turtles. I think sometimes we need to understand others' feelings and apologize even if we don't feel we did anything wrong.

I'm a compulsive truth teller. I have to redefine the meaning of truth or something like that if I am to lie.

So... Is it against the rules to ask if you have Skype?

Are the rules of these forums just the spirit of the law or the letter of the law? Meaning rules. Forum rules.

I think you can get in trouble for breaking most of them if you do it enough.

You cguys can call me Simply Be if you like.

I'm an extremely nice and honest person just like I'm sure a lot of you guys are! I can't wait to make friends! :) I love friends. And if anyone causes any trouble I can always be consoling and diplomatic and kind and impartial and I can't wait to develop strong bonds and be there for people and help calm things down and lots of other lovely and positive things.

In short: I am excited to be a very positive influence on this forum, as I am sure there's plenty of other members here like that, I can't wait to become one :)

You know what I'd really love? Some 'New posts', 'Today's posts' and 'Your posts' buttons... it makes the forum incredibly easy to navigate that way. But I guess I'll get used to going without :)

Look at the top right of the page, just under the blue bar. There should be "view posts since last visit" and "view your posts" buttons. :)
