Hello everybody, I’m new to Wrong Planet!

I’m a teenager from the state of Georgia. For the past two years I have been struggling with depression and late last year I found out that the main cause of my sadness was Asperger’s. Apparently I was diagnosed when I was very young but my parents withheld the diagnosis because they didn’t want me to feel limited by my condition. However, ever since my parents revealed the information to me I’ve learned that I’m much more than my diagnosis, and even though I find it difficult to make friends I know I can still have a successful and productive life.

I’m looking forward to going to university next year (studying computer science), and I’d like to have the opportunity to communicate with people who are also on the autism spectrum. I’m really into good music (I love to collect vinyl records), but I also enjoy good movies, classic literature and traveling.

May God's blessings be with you all, have a wonderful year!

Welcome! I like your attitude of knowing that your diagnosis doesn't prevent you from being successful. I hope this forum is a positive experience for you.

that is a very good attitude to have. :thumleft: it shows you are not willing to be bogged down by differences, a trait many very successful people share. it is a good asset.

welcome to the club. i hope your depression is resolved in some way or other.
