I'm new here. :) I was diagnosed in college with something called Aspergers but I really never cared to look into it. I was newly married and out in the world working and attending college. I just thought that it was yet another cross for me to bear and didn't really matter as much as the impending move up North and all my anxiety regarding that. After we moved it was really good for awhile, the change helped me more than I ever realized it would. I forgot all about my diagnosis until after my son was born and my life changed irrevocably. We struggled until about six months before his eighth birthday with every issue imaginable. He's perfectly healthy in every way except he is different. After I realized what was going on with him, that he had Aspergers as well my social anxiety went through the roof. Now I was responsible for this person who was just like me but also not. I've lived most of my life, I'm mid-thirties now, not addressing my autism or even acknowledging it. I'm reading everything I find, crying all the time when I learn that I am in fact not just a quirky, eccentric hermit. I am not alone even though I feel like it all the time. I haven't been able to locate a group in my area I feel comfortable with. I hope that with my son's impending diagnosis and changing to homeschooling to get his life back on track that I can learn how to cope and deal. I'm hoping it isn't an epic battle, but I can deal with it if that is the case. We are all trying to learn to cope and deal with our new lives together. My husband and other son don't have Asperger's, but they are very nerdy, so that helps.

About me
I play lots of video games. I've played all the big MMORPGS, and I play currently: Guild Wars 2, DragonAge Inquisition (off and on), and I just got an XBOX with a ton of fun games. I like Assassin's Creed Syndicate a lot. Especially because there is a female character, not just a female skin. I've been playing since 1998. I have been in top guilds, and I consider myself to be a very good player, not just for a girl, one of the top players on the server who happens to play a female character and is not a man. HAHA :)

I have a small farm. I have a Shetland Sheepdog named Nymeria, a gray kitten named Posey we fostered through a local rescue, a barn cat named Alice, six Laced Wyandotte chickens, three ducks of assorted variety and more rabbits than I can count. I breed Mini Rex rabbits, I show and teach 4-H rabbit to our community. My boys take horse riding lessons at a nearby stable, and I get the chance every few weeks to pet and groom horses. My son's both ride.
Rabbits, I am obsessed with rabbits. It helps feed so much into my Asperger's in a positive way I feel. I love to have baby rabbits and raise them from birth. Handling them and experiencing the ups and downs that go with raising animals. The endless work that makes me so tired and yet I feel so proud. I like to work hard and see the results as they come in. I have a deep understand of animals and animal care. My pets are all so spoiled, so are the livestock. One day I want to have my own horses and an alpaca.

I also suffer from FMS/CFS/ME and all the other chronic illnesses that come with that diagnoses. I have chronic pain, and I use a wheelchair at times. A great way to further add to social anxiety and screen your friends for you.
I am a writer by trade when I am not homeschooling, caring for animals or children. Also when I am not sick. I have written one and a half novels and have worked on hundreds of shorter pieces. I do have published work, but it's under my real name, and I am remiss to share it because of anonymity.

I do as many crafts as my husband will tolerate. I crochet, spin yarn from fiber animals, felt, needle felt and weave. I paint, make soaps and bath items, do jewelry stamping and jewelry making. I also used to sew and quilt. I don't think there are many crafts I don't know how to do and If so don't mention them or I have to make it a personal goal to learn them.

What else? Not sure just ask. I hope to meet some amazing friends here who make me feel like I'm not actually from Mars.

I write SF/Fantasy. I also write the occasional piece for The Mighty or similar type sites. It causes me extreme social anxiety to write non-fiction. I love to write urban fantasy and sword and sorcery. My latest novel is the latter.
