Hi, this is my first post on the WrongPlannet forums. My name is David, I'm from Wales (UK) and was diagnosed with Aspergers late in life (I'm 39 now and was diagnosed during a spell in hospital 4 years ago). I was previously diagnosed with Tourette's also (obviously much earlier in life). Just posting to say hi and meet fellow people with Aspergers since around here there are no support groups or social groups for people on the spectrum. My hobbies include long distance running (anything from 5k runs, 10k runs or half marathons) and I run five or six days a week. I am a member of a local running club also. I enjoy food and cooking also, and watching boxing (hope to start boxing soon). At the moment I do not work due to recurring depression which the running is helping with a great deal in terms of lifting my mood. I am an openly gay man but single at the moment and would be interested to meet other gay people with ASD and get some advice on dating. Anyhow, that's it for now but hope to meet some nice people here and looking forward to replies.

Welcome loopydave, I myself used to run as a kid, though I mostly just walk a good deal now but running can indeed be cathartic, can make one feel alive.

I hope this community proves beneficial for you, there isn't much in the way of support where I live either but I've found this community rather helpful from time to time.
