Hi, I have just joined this forum.
I am the mother of a 10yr old boy recently diagnosed (although long suspected) with High Functioning Autism. Does anyone know of a support group on the Central Coast of NSW Australia? He is going through some tough times right now with school/homework/bullies issues.

thanks

Ozzzywoman :(

welcome to WP.

He might enjoy checking out Kids Crater on WP. There he can meet & talk w/other kids that can relate to him & his uniqueness'.

The parents forum is another great place. They really give good advice, and from many different perspectives.

Sorry, I live in the US so I can't help you there.

And a very warm welcome to you from me!

There was a time in which I thought I needed help from some parents here because I said some things I shouldn't have said. However, I am in the process of meeting a few new people in my life, and that should take my mind off of my hard feelings.

I hope you enjoy posting here!

Hello (or is it "G'day"?):

Welcome to WP. I'm from about as far away from Aussie as you can get,
so I can't help you much re: support groups out there. Here's hoping you
do find the help you need.

Till next time.

Hi! There is alot of good advice and support in the Parents forum. It is interesting to get different viewpoints! :D I'm in Canada so I'm not sure what supports but there are some parents that are if you post in the Parents forum.

Hi Ozzy Woman. My grandson is Aussie Boy, and I once developed the Ozzie Reading Club for children with learning difficulties.

Tony Atwood's clinic is in Brisbane but tha's too far away.

Hope you find support. This is a great place to begin.
