Hi, I'm Bobert, from Salt Lake City. I'm 52 years old and married to a very wonderful and understanding woman. With average level AS and above average level ADD it is a wonder that I'm not in an institution somewhere drooling on myself. I earn my living as a real estate invester and do general construction. In my 30's it became obvious to me that to avoid a life of poverty and frustration I had to align my obsessions with making a living. I combined an obsession with saving money and handyman skills to become a landlord. I've been very fortunate and as long as I don't have to do the NT thing very often life is good. It is amazing to hear the stories of other Aspies and realize there are others who have this strange combination of traits called AS, I always thought that my personally was just some weird variant strain of ADD. I'm glad to be aboard and look forward to finding out more about you all.

Greyhounds! You have greyhounds! Mine is 4 1/2 and named Fiasco - he's a complete attention whore. My ex has custody of the other two - Jake (6) and Mesa (6 1/2), but I get visitation rights. :D

Welcome!

Hi Bobert & welcome to WP.

There's plenty around here to browse, but feel free to come and join us old fogies in the In-Depth Adult Life Discussion forum. There's threads that focus on being Aspie & married and it's the place that AS parents tend to meet up. The Parents Forum is OK but is often NT parents with AS children, so sometimes the outlook is a little different to that of the AS parent with NT/AS children.

I like SLC though I've only had chance to visit once - we've got a friend who works at BYU and another who lives and works in Provo. :D

Welcome to WP!

My Dad has a doberman-greyhound - okay, not the same as a 100% greyhound but she is very sweet (although she can also be very stupid! It' is in an endearing way though :) )
