hi there. As I'm sure you can tell I'm new here to WP. I'm a bit nervous so... :oops:

I'm here basically to find out as much as I can about aspergers and autism and to talk with people that share my inerests.
I guess i consider myself an aspie (there's just so much that makes sense!) but I'm undiagnosed and haven't even told my mother about my suspisions. I hope that by being active here I can come to a clear conclusion and feel comfortable telling my family. I don't really feel that I need a diagnosis, as it will not change much of anything about me. But I would like to offer my mother an explanation for the way I behave (so she knows it's not anything she did wrong).

Is there any reason you haven't told your mother? Have you shown her any information about Asperger's.

She might read a blurb about Asperger's and think - hmmm, that sounds just like my child!

My intersts are things like anime, manga, fiction, harry potter, music(rock) and japan.
My fav manga right now is loveless (see my ava)
I could be a bit more specific but I'd probably ramble..

I haven't told my mother because I'm not completely sure myself. I don't want to worry her with information that may not be true. She has a very stressful life and the last thing i want to do is make it worse. That's my main reason.
But I'm also very nervous about mentioning it. I keep to my self mostly and even though i am impossibly close to my mum, i still can't tell her very personal things.

Recently though, she's noticed a few things on autism(on tv and the like) and taken an interst. She's very into psychology (as am i) and we often talk about things. We've been talking about my childhood alot. So I'm hoping something will click.
