Do I have Asperger's?
I've had bad social problems my entire life, I often draw a blank and can think of nothing to say. I feel run down if I'm in a social or noisy situation. I can see myself acting nervous and awkward, yet I'm powerless to do anything about it. To cope I drank exesivly in social situations and at night. I have managed to stay continuously employed since I was 16, earned a degree, got married, and have 2 children. By some miracle I landed a high paying job that doesn't require great social skills.
I have also had sever stomach issues my entire life, at 25 it was so bad I only weighed 120 lbs. and 6ft tall. By some miracle I found a doctor that diagnosed me with IBS, and prescribed me nortriptylin. Within a few months I gained 30+ lbs. This improved my life immensely.
School really sucked, I've always had a small group of friends but never really fit in, and I have absolutely no athletic ability. I've always been a light sleeper and i suffer if I can't get 7 hours of sleep a day. I also have constant sinus congestion.
I've always had unusual interests; snakes, turtles, guns, and i bond quickly with dogs.(I can't stand cats) I often obsess over certain historical subjects; WW1, WW2, Fascism, Western history... Time management will throw me into a blind rage, I hate to be late, and I hate waiting on someone that is.
In the last 2 years I learned my blood type is especially susceptible to Asperger's, it's A-. And to end on a stranger note, I compusively count to 7 in my head about a thousand times a day, though I have no idea why.
It sounds more like OCD to me, but the best thing to do is to get a professional diagnosis, if you can afford it. Unlike the UK, where adults can get a "free" diagnosis, rarely is an autism diagnosis covered by insurance. Wouldn't hurt to check, just in case.
It is possible to have both OCD and autism. Autistics tend to be event oriented and lose track of time. But OCDs can be great clock watchers.
Many adults with autism would have mentioned that one of their children have been diagnosed with autism.
I think you'd need to get evaluated to see what you have. It depends on a variety of factors and there's no way with what you described to know for sure what you had. There are many NTs that are simply shy and than there are people with ASDs that are so immersed in their favorite topic(s) that they cannot make time for friends.
I think if it affects your life, consider meeting with a therapist and see where your thoughts/actions are interfering in your life. If that doesn't work, you can try to get a professional diagnosis to see what exactly treatments are necessary to help whether they be CBT, DBT, 12 step programs, talk therapy, reality therapy, or whatever therapy and medications are helpful / necessary. It can be a tough thing and you have to be flexible to try other things if something doesn't work.
Good luck and many best wishes.

Nobody here can give you a diagnosis, so you'd need to be evaluated
