Post subject: Lots of Questions
(and too many answers), GhostHuner

Hi, Ghosthunter,
You have a lot of questions and, unfortunately,
I have lots of answers.

I'm not going to answer them in order:

(1) What do I seek from Wrong Planet?
Well, I initially found the site looking for info.
and support for my mother who has Aspergers
but has not been officially diagnosed as such.
However, the name of the site "Wrong Planet"
also describes how I feel quite often, not just
my mom. I don't quite seem to fit into the
"normal"/mainstream human race--the not so
"normal" either. So, I guess I seek not only
info. for my Mom, but a safe place for me to
interact with other folks sort of like me.
Hmmmmmmm? What is it that you do, or your
mom does that gives you this inclination to
say AS?

(2)What is my considered status?
Again, my mom is a non-diagnosed Aspie.
But I have a lengthy list of conditions myself:
BipolarII (I mostly gravitate to depression)
and my "mania" pole manifests itself as irritability,
sleep disturbance, and other non-typical "mania"
symptoms; I've been diagnosed with Personality
Disorder NOS (not otherwise specified--yes a very
happy title isn't it?! !). I was diagnosed with that
because I have symptoms of inability to read
people's intentions/meaning in social situations,
extreme sensitivity to stimuli, extreme sensitivity
to criticism and perceived judgement, etc., etc. So
in some ways I feel a little/lot like an Aspie, too.
(I've been told by the doctors that, yes, I have some
of the same characteristics, but mine are not
neurologically based.) Alas, I also have Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome and Fybromyalgia--which all complicate
my desire to function a little more "normally" in the
world.
Wow! that is a long list! And Thanks for sharing it.
I am Ghosthunter and HFA, that's all! Wow! That is
a long list!! !!!1

(3)Hobbies and Interests:
History; crafts; painting; gardening
(when I've got the energy), paper model building;
watching animals--the non-human kind; journal
writing; reading: non-fiction and the classics; watching
documentaries, certain types of British comedy,
BBC programs in general. I used to love to drive:
had a manual German performance car and I used
to love to travel, too, but my illnesses have really
knocked those out of my life--at least for now. Also l
ove swimming, walking, hiking, museum-going, but
again the fatigue really has cut these down too.
Hmmmmm? That is definely a long list of things
you like, and the best part is you like to communicate
it. I am impressed on how you freely express like
myself. Phineas thanks for being a communicative
soul! Most AS people here aren't that communicative
thus I see why PDD-NOS.

(4)Strong Points:
courage, hope, a healthy dose of persistance,
intelligence, creativity-in certain ways,
adventurous, extreme loyalty, kindness
Again definely a PDD-NOS, not Aspergers!

(5)Weak Points:
extremely poor self-esteem, all the physical
and mental problems, especially the fatigue,
inability to function in social situations"
Same with HFA. I was going through the
DSM-IV and found there are more similarities
in a PDD-NOS and HFA, than AS, and you
emplaphie this so well!
Sincerely,
Ghosthunter
