I know Montreal! It is the city I always get lost in!

Are you bilingual or a native French speaker? Or did you get caught up in the decades when you were forbidden to use French in school? I pass through Montreal on my way to canoe trips in Quebec.
I love what you said about music theory and it backs up my experiences. Just the other day the bass line of the Am, G, F, C popped out and I "got" it. That was such a minor thing in the big world of music, but I was thrilled to "discover" it experientially.
Hi blazingstar
No Quebec taught Persian French in English School. My parents spoke English with strong German accent. Hollywood gave us kids the strong incentive to drop any trace of German origin. TV Hogans Heroes, & Combat come to mind. German soldiers die very quickly on the big screen... thought it was a blood-clotting problem for awhile. My language skills are poor.

When I play my "self piano reflex grids", the voicings are really awful, but band-in-a-box loves the choral embedded chord structures from these reflex grids. It gives more freedom to explore improvisational progressions.
