Hello

Despite not having an official ASD diagnosis I think that I lay somewhere on the spectrum.

I am a 24 year old introvert and shy guy which is currently working in a decent place after having spent a period of study in the university.

However outside of this my life is pretty crappy. My emotional intelligent is low, there is no other way of putting this, I sucked in a lot of interviews I participated in and I had some anger outbursts through the years particularly in contexts that required motor coordination skills. Outside of this, I am a very rational person. I also have never had a girlfriend and I don't even ever went on a date despite trying to.

So yeah, that's me in short, hope to share and contribute more as the time goes on.

Hello. Like you I'm an Aspie with Temper. Unlike you, I am outgoing and expressive. My intellectual social intelligence is high (I study and read a lot), but my practical social intelligence remains low: I know what to say/do, but can't say/do it. Frustrating. I strive to keep my stress low to avoid emotional outbursts and recently I turn away and count to 5 to let the strong impulses pass. That works the majority of the time, but not all. I prefer anger to the depression I was in for decades. I look forward to more calm. I'm getting there.

Welcome to the community!

Hi and welcome :)! Good to have you with us. Good to hear you found a decent place to work after Uni. I too am an introvert, and wish you well with those challenges.

Welcome to Wrong Planet. I've been known to have some sparking displays of anger when I was younger.

Hello. It's perfectly fine to believe you might be on the autism spectrum. That's where most anyone who has not been diagnosed as a child starts.

One issue of contention I must raise: Please do not call yourself an Aspie or being on the spectrum as a definitive or declarative statement unless you've been professionally diagnosed. "Self-diagnosed" indicates to everyone here that you think you might be on the spectrum which would be accurate in your case.

Thanks for the messages.

I said in my post that I am not sure if I am on the autism spectrum but there are several signs pointing that way. I have some trouble with eye contact particularly with people that I don't know and I have difficulties fitting in new environments and also taking turns in conversations, that's why I often do things on my own since a young age. However when I trust in someone I can talk a lot and be expressive (not so much outgoing). I also scored 39 in the Autism Quotient test. I know there are other diagnosis that can explain some parts of my behaviour like OCD, GAD or even PPD but for me, ASD is the one that fits better.

I should have clarified: I was making a comment related to the title of your thread rather than the content of it.
