1)...The Question?

Is there anyone on the 1500 member
board you would like to spend some
time with?

2)...Statements by Ghosthunter!

Ghosthunter meets Magic & Hilary wrote:
I am staying at the Keno Motel until Thursday
next week. It is across the street from
the Sand Casino. There is a Mel's Diner there.
The cross streets are Arlington and 3rd.

I meet Magic and Hilary at 12pm Friday, at
Mel's Diner and we had lunch! He preferred
a chicken-type lunch, She had salad and
?, I had the Chili Burger. They also shared
a Sundae, and I had a banana shake.

I like Mel's diner for there astomphere and
good prices that match their good food.

We then spent some time there getting adquainted.
Magic is softspoken as he is online, Hilary and
I were talkative. Oh! God! It is amazing how
so!

I am usually constrained in talking in public
except for my odd statements to add cheer
to someone's life. Hilary and I were very
autistic and it was like all the social adjustments
evaporated and my very autistic traits and hers
just flowed.

Magic did the "seconds eye contact test".
I managed 30 seconds and couldn't help
laughing after that! His gaze would have
held longer. So much for eye contact practice.

Hilary wanted to check her email, and validated
why I have a wifi card. We had to doddle at
the main library and time was ticking in a bad
way. No luck there, We went way out of our
way and after much annoyance in my part,
"I do not beg for food, restrooms, and internet"
    feelings came to the
surface. The outer branch was small.

The area of this outer library branch reminded
me of Hisperia, a city my dad lived in when
I meet him at age 13 in 1979. It was desert
scant and unhappy looking houses, and desolation.

We later went to a petting zoo in a further
point away from, but still in Reno. It cost
$5 dollars and was literally a 1 acre private
backyard. It had odd birds, all type of
monkeys, some lions and tigers being fed.
and very friendly deer that liked to chew on
Hilary's clothes and came to me to pet.
Magic was enjoying himself, but not saying much.

If you go to this small private zoo, remember
to avoid dropping that could go on your shoe.

At 5pm I parted company with Magic and Hilary.
I went online for 1.5 hours and returned to the
motel room and dropped off my computer.

At 7pm, Magic, Hilary and I were going to
this Baskis-language restraunt that served
7 course meals. $22 per person , +tax and
tip was too steep for us, so we went to
Fitzgeralds for a buffet dinner at $12 a head.

We meet tommorow at 10am at the same
Mels entrance and have breakfast. No major
aritinerary except a museum? a mall? a ?
nothing in rock, mind you!

Maybe. Only thing is, I'm a relatively new person to these discussions so don't know too many people too well just yet. Have to think about this one for a while. I'm sure there would be quite a few people though that it would be nice to meet in person.

That's pretty cool! Sounds like you guys had fun.

There are quite a few people here I'd like to meet (including you and Magic), unfortunately some of you live on different continents - but hopefully I'll be able to say hello to some of the UK based members in August. :D

If you plan on making your way through Wisconsin, specifically the lakeshore area stop on over!

I plan too, I will need greyhound dropoff point
information though. You live there and should
have a good idea on the where things are, so
please PM me with specifics. I leave here
at Reno on Thursday(coming up)

Is there anyone else you would like to meet?

Sincerely,
Ghosthunter

There are quite a few members I would love to meet in person, but distance and lack of transportation unfortunately prevents me from doing so.

GH, you really should make a book about your life!

The meet up sounds wonderful! It sounds like everyone had a great time.

I'm looking forward to when you get to my neck of the woods.

I would like to meet Coffeenogrumpy, she's a wonderful person and a very devoted and loving mother.

Fiddler, she is very intelligent and I percieve a softness that most people do not have.

Ghosthunter , I would love to meet you! I read everything you write. You have a broad knowledge of many interesting topics and you know how to bring humor into tense situations. I also like your Star Trek role-playing.! !

Hmmmm? If you don't mind! PM for travel specifics
that relate to where you are located. I will be on
Greyhound, not car! this should give you how
to setup travel information!

Glad to hear about your time with Magic and
Hilary. Sounds fun!

It was!

So far on Saturday, they had 4th of July
festivities here in downtown Reno. I met
Magic and Hilary at 10am near Mels Diner,
next to the sands casino.

We had breakfast at Fitzgeralds and Magic
felt there wasn't much variety in the food
selection. That is true! Breakfast in
America is rather limited in imagination!

We went to and got parted and lost in the
car museum. Oooooh! How old and
beautiful were the 1890's-1920 range
cars. Yes, I said 1890's!

Room one was 20'-40's type cars.

Room two was 1890's to 1920 masterpieces
of genius using steam and electictrical,
and gas. Did you know that a 1910 racing
car like the one's in "Chitty Chitty Bang-Bang"
go 45miles per gallon, and some other cars
before 1910 could go 15mph and drive 5.? hours
on one gallon(80mpg).

Room Three was Volkswagon Bugs from
Germany©48' and Eeeeexxxxccccelllent!
Touring cars of 20's to 50's. My favorite
was a 1915 range Rolls Royce, in copper?

I asked why and the cleaning of cars guy
said that the chassie, engine and wheels
were $16,000, you have a custom body made!
On top of that is the finish for the copper wasn't
protected and almost turned green in NY
heat.

Another beauty in this particular room were
the odd-ball bullet, rounded, 3-wheeled,
ect....models. Too many to mentiontion
but WooooW!! !! !!

Room 4 sucked except for a rocket car ©61'

At 7pm we are going for dinner, and have no
clue where?????

Hilary went to the "They call it a Mall" next to
the Century Theatre in further down Virginia
road.

Hilary went to the record store on Virginia
road, near the mall.

I found 2 odd-ball comics stores and Magic
know nows how to find 2 autistic people.
Comics store and music store(with a smile
on his face).

Magic doesn't say much, but that is AS for
you, as I and Hilary in the autism spectrum
can drive him nuts in conversation, but lucky
for him we didn't chat up the storms in the
clouds this part of the day.

It was very hot in Reno. Windy and Hot were
your only options.

We went to Border's books. It's much too small
for my taste and I much rather go to jumping
java or the other artsy coffee shop for local
wifi'ing! They are both close to Virginia and
First area!

Between 10pm to 3am I go to the 24hour
Starbucks near Borders books since I find
I have no sense of direction around casino
noise, lights and feel(evirement).

Otherwise, I will post more later today at
12am 7/3/05, and right now it is 5:30pm
7/2.

Coool!
Ghosthunter
