I've been here before, but I'm not sure what my username was back then (and I'm sure I'd want to disown my old posts anyway if I saw them), so I'm starting afresh.
It's been quite a while since last time I changed my daily medication, it's kinda funny to realize that I'm just following old patterns when I find myself wondering if there are any forum sites out there that are still active. Like clockwork. I guess it's not bad that my instinct when I start to feel funny and spacey like this is to look for people to chat with. Though come to think of it that's also probably why I have a spooky feeling about whatever I may have posted here before... 
Anyway. I hope you all are having a nice day.

Hey fellow jpop fan. Well, just a bit, my son is the fan 
I'm more into the overall modern culture of Japan post war. The rabbithole opened up when I discovered that vocalisation of 're, ri, ro, ra' are so similar to Norwegian 'r'
And I did see parts of the movie 'My neighbour totoro' at a electronic parts expo long back when i was at school late 80's but that was pre rabbithole, lets call it awakening the curiosity.

It still blows my mind how Japanese speakers will go from an R sound to an L sound and then back to R with no awareness that they're doing it. Psycholinguistics is weird. But fun.

At first glance at least, things actually seem to be a lot more peaceful and easygoing here right now. The last time I remember being here was back in Hillary-versus-Trump times. 
I'm also pleasantly surprised that "modern social media" hasn't entirely killed all forums on Earth and beyond. That stuff is cancer.
