Hi all, I’m Will, 40 and was diagnosed last month. Still processing this, but looking to connect more with autistic people. I have two kids who are both dxed as well, which is why I started to look into autism for myself too.

Looking forward to getting to know folks here.

Welcome to WP! I hope you are a regular visitor for a long time.

And I'll add my viewpoint on the diagnosis, which I got when I was 64. I agree, it was very enlightening and I was delighted to finally understand so much of my life. However, I was old enough that the diagnosis doesn't seem to have any practical value...except when my bride bumps up against one of my Autistic traits, when I enjoy saying:

:D I have a doctor's note for that!

Welcome! It seems to be a common occurrence, that older people aren't diagnosed until their kids are. Wouldn't it have been great to have access to knowledge and support while growing up?
