Why are you here? I think I might have Asperger's.
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): In middle school I was diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder and possibly depression. I was on Celexa for a short time, then Paxil, then Prozac. I actually wound up addicted to the Paxil... that was hella fun.
Favorite subjects: I really enjoyed my senior Calculus class, though I usually don't get along well with math.
Year/Grade: I'm a college freshman - I start school the fourth week of August.
Favorite music: I love rock music. I like most anything with an edge and some synth to go with it... though overall my taste is pretty broad.
Books: Lord of the Flies, Generation X, Microserfs, Go Ask Alice
TV shows/Movies: Dead Like Me, Six Feet Under, Advertising Rules! (German flick), He Loves Me He Loves Me Not (French flick), the Jacket
Instrument: I own a bass guitar but I barely know how to play it.
Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: No.
Family: Parents. Brother who just turned 22 (no, seriously, he turned 22 two days ago)
Clothing: Generally, jeans and a t-shirt.
How did you find this website? Someone in an Asperger's chat room that I googled referenced me.
Job: I am a shift leader at Hollywood Video.
Plans for the future? I don't know. I'm only going to college because I know if I try to take a year off I won't go back at all. I want to do more than just live, make barely more than minimum wage, and pay rent.
Any comments? Nada.
I guess I'm not really here to tell my life story, but I guess I'll go a little bit into why I think I have Asperger's. A few months ago, I met someone who is undiagnosed with Asperger's - I doubt he would have thought to look into it for himself, but his son is apparently so autistic that the doctors said the only way a kid could be THAT autistic is through predisposition - e.g. if he has an autistic parent. I wouldn't have thought too much of it myself, except I realized that this person and I are quite a bit alike. So that's when I decided to try to research it for myself - a habit I've always had about things that pique my interest... I research and research and research until I've learned as much about the subject as I can.
Well. I don't really know where I'm going with this, and I'm rambling, so I guess I'd better stop.
