Hello. I'm new. I'm a 27-year-old male named Jason from the Great State of Tennessee who was recently diagnosed with Aspie's back in March/April 2007 after living for 17 years with a misdiagnoses of Tourette's Disorder! Can you believe that?! I have Aspie's and I was misdiagnosed with a tic disorder at age 10!

Well, if you want to know so much more about me all you have to do is visit my MySpace page by clicking here.

Thank you and have a day! :)

Hello, MrNiceGuy.

I don't know how you could have been misdiagnosed Tourettes Syndrome as Aspergers and Tourettes are quite different. It's a shock that the doctor didn't pick up Aspergers Syndrome Earlier.

Anyway...welcome to WP :)

Yeah, well I was diagnosed with Tourette's in 1990 and Asperger's was not in the DSM-IV until 1994.

Hello Jason,

I also live in Tennessee. Like you, I was misdiagnosed for years. Psychologists gave me all kinds of psych labels like Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Personality Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, etc. It wasn't until I started my own research that I discovered that I was Autistic/Aspie.
I hope you find the support and information that you need here at WP.

I was not misdiagnosed, and I have been here for over 3 years!

Jason,Many Layers was responding to Jason who's Mr Nice Guy.
Not that you aren't a Nice Guy as well Jason (this is pehaps an example of why
why we're sometimes better off having usernames than our own names ! )

Welcome to WP Jason.

I'm confused now so I'll go and lie down for 5 minutes ....

I remember it Jason because my favourite football (soccer) player is called Henrik
Larsson. It's the Swedish spelling rather than your own Norwegian but it's all the
same.
