Hello, greetings and salutations! I’m so new here I still have that new noob smell. (It’s something like new car smell.)

I have not been formally diagnosed, but after talking a good friend online (who is a diagnosed Aspie), taking an online test (Your Aspie score: 173 of 200, Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 49 of 200) and lurking here for the past few days, I’m beginning to wonder if my previous diagnosis of Dysthymia, Avoidant Personality Disorder and General Anxiety may have been wrong all these years. Over 20 years of professionals possibly being wrong. Who would have guessed? I share too many of the traits for it to not be a possibility which would give me some solace in know why I can’t cope among the ‘normies’ and just chalking it all up to being weird.

Anyway, enough about the good stuff that sets me apart from just about everyone else I know. I’m a female stuck in the middle of a cornfield surrounded by the most dull and mundane folk to walk the planet. I have an obsession with cars, particularly any GM vehicle (I blame my father’s side of the family for that.) I get along better with my pets than I do any human, much to the chagrin of my poor husband. Woe to the man who marries a woman who spends too much time with her cats. I can be creative when the need arises from sheer boredom, I love to play in the dirt (gardening), I spend too much time sitting at the computer playing The Sims ( I spend more time building houses than actually playing the game.) I chew my bottom lip when nervous (I‘m doing that as I type this), I can’t stand loud repetitive noises and I can tune into one tiny noise that no one else seems to notice. (Never ride in a car with me, I will drive you insane from spotting every little tick, squeal, knock, ect.)

I guess there’s not much else to tell you, you’ll probably learn more about me as I post and I'm off to be myself. Which is so much better than being something I'm not. 8)

Welcome. You sound awesome. :)

Love the subject line and the avatar.

Do you play guitar as well, or was it just the cat and the general amusingness that drew you to it?

Thank you, Jainaday. :) I never would have thought of myself as sounding awesome or being awesome period.

No, I don't play guitar, it was the cat and the fact that I'm attracted to anything goofy or red, black and white.

Welcome aboard!

At least I'm not the only GM-vehicle obsessed fan here on WP :)
