Hello, I'm new here. I feel I have alot to say about alot of issues, many of them would be considered controversial. But I feel that discussion on controversial issues is what leads to progress.

Things that upset me include people who speak to me (or anyone, for that matter) in a condescending manner, a devaluating manner, or an invalidating manner (eg: "I'm sorry you feel that way"). I've put up with enough of that in my life, and I don't feel like I should have to anymore.

I enjoy caring for various animals; among them are a tarantula, hermit crabs, a turtle, crayfish, 2 anoles, and a pac-man frog. I consider them my children. I have no human children and do not plan to.

^_^ I'm sure I will. I actually enjoy controversy and wish I could join a debate team.

Hmm... that seems like a good idea. :) Anyone up for a formal (or semi-formal) debate? Anyways, tokaia, welcome to WP. I'm sure you'll find plenty of controversial stuff to debate in the "Politics, Philosophy and Religion" forum. But it's all cool because everyone's pretty much agreed to disagree on certain issues. Right, vetivert? ;)

I used to go through that. What pissed me off the most was during my school days, that's all I ever got. From everyone it was negative this and negative that. It's gotten me to a point where I do things to evade people condescending me. I can't even stand people accusing me of doing something wrong even if I didn't, even if I explain it to them the one or so second where they think I've done something wrong pisses me off.

Although the fear of criticism has gotten me to where I am today, and I'm the happiest I've ever been, overall it's still an annoying life. I'm really trying to get over it, but I'm always afraid of saying things to people because of the fear I'll have to reexplain myself because I oftent hink so hard to talk in the first place and when another point comes up it's a new challenge I have to answer on the spot.

Welcome Tokaia! I know what you mean by condescending people. I have actually had near normal conversation with people until I get to the part where I tell them I'm an Aspie......like a switch, their whole demeanor changes. This actually happened while talking with a doctor recently! Grrrrr!
