I guess it's my turn to waste perfectly good pixels with an introduction.
I'm a 22-year old (to be 23 within two weeks...oh joy...) from the Seattle area who has Asperger's syndrome. I'm slowly isolating myself from reality because the real world is letting me down; my life has been a joke for about five years, and it just keeps getting worse. Plus, I live with parents who don't believe I can be self-sufficient.
When I was 14, I once spoke at an autism conference in Olympia...I forget exactly which conference but it was one that Temple Grandin had spoke at a year prior. I think it's safe to say that I've been nowhere close to reaching the potential that I possessed back then...and it pisses me off thinking about it.
I've wanted to find help in the real world, with both Aspie-related problems and various psychotic issues, but all the people I've found only seem to care about taking my money. The online world isn't providing me all that much consolation, because 75% of the people here are morons. Thankfully, this place seems like it may have most of the other 25%.
I can't think of a sufficient way to end this so I'll just end it on that note. I hope I can stay here awhile...
