Hi, Sufi!

Friends? Come and visit the ex dino cafe in this thread for those over 40 or feeling creaky. You can say what you like there. The only rule is don't attack individuals and understand that know one means to hurt your feelings.

You will find a very supportive group. Most have only been diagnosed recently after a life of confusion. You are very welcome! :D

Hi sufi

welcome to WP :!:

I understand what you mean about having a bubble around you at social occassions.
Like you are blocked out from the rest by some invisible force that wont let you connect.

I am sure that here on WP, the bubble will be no longer and you will talk to some great people...I sure have.

I like people who are direct and aren't afraid to say what they think. :) I don't like people who confuse their thoughts with their emotions and watch what they say to avoid offending anyone.

Sufi:

Allow me to be less than diplomatic with you:
For starters, you can can the pity party; there
are 15,000 or more other people here from all over
this world and each of them--each of us--has come
close to despair about our separate situations before
we found this website.
Second, we tend to find out the most about ourselves
through finding out about each other; that's how we learn
to become friends with each other.
Third, I'd like to learn more about aging and AS [=Asperger's
Syndrome] myself; count me in as an interested friend.

Sincerely,
Douglas_MacNeill

Douglas,
Thank you for your concern. but I got off the pity potty a long time ago in alanon. I am not whiney about not having any friends and that is ok now. I no longer seek them out. I plan to blog subjects which I have unpopular view points. Like everyone here I have been living a hard wild ride life emotionally and have become disappointed, bitter, cynical, disenchanted, skeptical, saddened or whatever (not sure which word applies) with past friends.
Reality is I don't do the friend thing very well on line or off. I know I will probably make some friends [other wise known as people I get along with, respect thier opinions, will seek options and advice from and aid others when needed online] here but I am not expecting it.
The word 'friends' I find frustrating and inadequate and the synonyms just don't fit either. kind of like the different words eskimos use to describe forms of snow I wish there were more words to describe different relationships.
I too would like to know more about asperger and aging since I am feeling pretty darn close to that subject. Like, can I expect to be mellow or cranky at 85. If i get there, which is a whole blog by itself.

Thank you to all who have given me a nice welcome.
I do hope to get to know a lot of you and maybe offer some help, opinions ( for good or bad) or stimulate disscussions

Roger or yo' G-Dub
was' up dude.

ok like i am a granny and that it the extent of my rapper dialoge.
I am assuming that "So wats good yo?" means what kind of stuff do I like. I too am a lover of music and was a dance major when I was younger (i can cut a rug). I like to cook and read it helps me to focus and relax. I adore my grandchildren. other than that cats and gaming as long as it is not violent. I am a basic child of the sixties.
