Hello all...My name's Usagi1992, but you can call me Jeffrey if you like...I'm 35 years old, and I have Asperger's. (officially diagnosed on January 3rd, 2004) I live in the United States in the backwards town of Wells, Maine...and...*shudders*...I still live with my family. *blushes hugely*

I've been on several forum boards before, but never felt like I belonged. Probably because like all insecure, picked-on Aspie kids, I felt like I had to go above and beyond the call of duty to be liked by my peers: I'd put up post after post after post, practically BURNING myself out after over a thousand posts in only one month, all for the sake of getting people to like me! It wasn't until 4 forum boards later that I realized it's NOT about post count...it's about being YOU!!

So, here I am...with a measly 6 or so posts to my name so far...but please be kind...I have a lot of insight I can share...a lot of stories to tell...

Thank you for taking time to read this... ^_^

hi usi

i might be interested in insights&stories

still in the process of sorting mine out, and it is a hard job

don't worry about the parents: i'm 51 and...
typing this on my mother's laptop, in my mother's living room, in my mother's house
since i've (finally) lost my place about 16 months ago -
all that due to typical non-diagnosed AS endless social&vocational struggle with, well, call it life; ended up the creek, got paddle stolen by system, no work no income, need official status to get into system, need dx

thought decadesofdepression?na
thought bipolar?hm
thought temporallyepileptic?well...
thought syndromatic rather than neurotic?okaysowhat
pondered usuallyrahterfemalerelatedbut.. did-ish?na, too literary
though borderline, well... atypically stable though

went to gp around 12-20 for referral to be diagnosed (i gather they write dxed here) for schizoid rather than schizotypical pd,
stumbled upon WP,
recogned language & perspective (sense of humor),
& made instant ASsumption

and finally, a story is only just starting to present itself;
if indeed AS, i can organize life accordingly
(with a little bit of help from whoever may be left of friends, and from the system - which is where the doctor comes in - if it allows me abit of leighway)
that's just practical things

getting 'better'? who cares? but still, also just
might be interesting in getting to know me as well, in this remarkable new light

good luck

Welcome to WP!

Is it true that lobster is cheap in Maine, or do people there pay the same price as everyone else?

Welcome to WrongPlanet, Usagi1992.

Stay calm, post on subjects that you yourself
want to talk about, and you'll find some people
who haven't really launched themselves into a
new household, either (*sheepish smile*).

I was so sure from your username that you were going to be a 15 or 16 year old girl.

Welcome!

Hehe, well, that needs explaining:

'Usagi' comes from Usagi Tsukino, the real name of Sailor Moon from the anime of the same name; and 1992 is the year that series debuted on Japanese TV.

And yes, by revealing that info, I've given away that I'm also a big anime fan, and I try as much as I can to be hip to all of the Japanese pop cultures and customs.

Thanks for all the responses guys and gals!

And gbollard - Love your avatar! :P
