I really don't know what to write here to describe myself, but I'll try. :)

I always thought I was a bit diffrent, and liked my own company best.
I asked my grandmother about it when I was eight or so, and I still remember her being quiet for a while and then laughing, follewed by "of course not."
I am not diagnosed, but I recognize my self in a lot of the descriptions, although not all. I am afraid to go to a psychiatrist to take any test.

I read some books by an authistic woman, and it opened my eyes a bit. I searched info, but there was little to find in the local library. The net is really a great place to find information, and this forum looks nice.
I find it amusing to read stories that I recognize my self in, and I like the forum :D

Welcome Maril. If you want to read some really good books, try Dawn Prince Hughes " Songs Of The Gorilla Nation". She is an Aspie also. Very good reading. She also has some text books.

Thanks for welcoming me, Mel and Tere.

I checked out the book by Dawn Prince Hughes, and found some other books about aspergers that seemed interesting, too. So thank you for the recommending. I look forward to get the books in the mail soon.

Maril you are going to love Dawn's book. Her writing style is very easy to read. She has given me hope in persuing things I am interested in and , also, made me realize how much a person like myself can contribute to society. Even if it is in the "background"!
