Hi guys 
I'm not quite a newbie here, but I might as well be given how long it's been since I posted. I first joined when I was newly-diagnosed (age 28...) and I wasn't really ready for help and support. Think I was still in denail pretty much. I've suffered from depression and social problems for as long as I can remember. Things came to a head about a week ago and I was pretty much ready to end my life. Got an unexpected amount of support from people around me and I came through it. I'm making some positive changes in my life, such as sorting out my fitness levels, managing my diabetes better and trying to manage my social life (such as it is) a little better too.
I guess part of dealing with my AS and the impact it's had on my life both pre and post-DX is facing up to the challenges it brings and not letting it ruin the rest of my life. As such, I'm interested in getting involved with this community, supporting others and getting support myself and just generally meeting people and having a bit of a larf!
Hopefully you'll see me around here a bit more and I'm looking forward to getting to know a few of you better. Think I'll post something about what's been going on with me recently in one of the other forums...might be an interesting read for people who are struggling with similar stuff.
Feel free to reply, PM, MSN or whatever, even if it's just to pass some time or something else equally frivolous
