I started hearing about AS a few years ago. It was something that boys "got" and no one had heard of a girl being diagnosed with it. Recently I read a ComputerWorld article about the incidence rate of AS in IT. Quite a bit of it sounded like stuff I did/still do. I won't go into the whole spiel about symptoms...because while fascinating to me, must surely bore others.
So, quite frankly I'm here to learn about AS and especially how to deal with it. I am a lot better than I was when I was a kid (22 now), but there is still a lot of work I can do to fit in (job-wise at least), and also to keep myself healthy.
I have an interesting sense of humor (don't we all?), I have several current obsessions (ancient Egypt, astrophysics, space opera, folklore, etc) and will probably find more as the years pass. I love to read (but please don't ask me to find the symbols/themes in a work. I'll be confuzzled). I unintentionally make up my own words. I can be really rigid in thinking and can't flex at all beyond the literal definition of an idea at times. I have a strict moral code. If I post something, it will not be intended to hurt, and I will not lie (I'm horrible at it).
That's about it for now, thanks for reading,
SR
