I have a feeling that one of the mods wanted me to edit this when I moved it to the "questions" area.
Perhaps that's why she posted "another dupe" below. :) Anyway, my name is Leslie, I'm almost 43 and I live in Lawrence, KS with my kitty Angel. I am admittedly self-diagnosed and have no health insurance at the moment to get a back up of this. But after reading a post on another forum about Asperger's I did some investigating and thought alot of it sounded strangely like me. I'm single, never married and like being alone (although some fun companions would not be turned away). I'm not working at the moment except for a very part time job merchandising DVDs, but I'm a distance ed student at a local community college, hopefully to continue at KU as a history or film major next year.
My main interest is entertainment history. Right now I'm obsessed with Burr Tillstrom and his Kuklapolitan players (as you can see by my avatar and name). Past obsessions have included Charlie Chaplin, Mabel Normand (still high on my list; I'm helping an author with some transcriibing of old articles about her for a book), Ramon Novarro and Tyrone Power. I practice Reiki healing, although I've never been paid for it, and dabble in astrology.
I've always thought that my condition (very socially inept and becoming all consumed by my interests) had either to do with the fact that I was a Scorpio with Cancer rising or an only child. Now I see that there might actually be something I share with others and that fact excites me. I'm glad I found Wrong Planet.

Welcome, Beulah Witch! My, you're interested in such interesting interests! Puppets and Reikei seem somewhat related, manipulating bodies and all....

I love the idea of an Aspie commune...wow, what a concept. I've hung around the New Buffalo Commune in Taos, New Mexico (it was in the movie Easy Rider) and I understand it's vacant now....hmmmm, could be a cool place to start!

At one time, while staying there, the communards were preparing for one of Dr. Timothy Leary's regular visits...I'll bet he could have offered some great insight into Asperger's. I had to leave as I was only booked for a couple of nights and it was when the Buffalo had evolved into more of a Hippie B & B.

Hope you like WP

"another double", cos we've been tidying up the board and i was going to move this out of the way into the tidy room, but i was so daft, i didn't actually move it. no need to edit it - sorry for being completely dozy and not explaining myself properly.

i blame the sun in scorpio - yes! another astrologer here, beulahwitch! :D scorp with cancer rising - all you'd need is a virgo moon, and you'd practically have the set. ;) (cappie with cancer rising, myself).

Oops, I thought you accidently thought it was a dupe so i moved it away from moderator forum. I tried to look for the other questions thing but couldn't find it. blame me for doing this... sorry.

I tend to do this type of thing just to keep you guys on your toes.

Oh, not a problem! My post looks nice in a prose format anyhoo.

So funny, I almost have a Virgo moon. It's actually one degree of Libra, so I'm off by a degree!
